What is Wander Rescue?
Wander Rescue is a subscription-based service that helps ensure individuals with dementia or mental illness can be quickly and safely reunited with their caregivers. Each subscriber receives a wearable item with a unique code that connects finders to the caregiver’s contact information via our secure system.
How does the Wander Rescue service work?
Each subscriber receives a unique identification code printed on a wearable item (like a bracelet or tag). If their loved one becomes lost, a person who finds them can enter the code on the “Found Someone?” page of our website. This triggers a secure alert to the caregiver via email and/or SMS, depending on their plan. The alert includes any notes or location details the finder provides without ever revealing sensitive personal information. The caregiver can then follow up and mark the situation as resolved from their dashboard.
What kind of information is needed to register?
Just basic details: name, condition, emergency contact info, and a photo if you’d like. You’ll also be assigned a unique code during the process.
Is my personal information secure? What about HIPAA?
Yes, your privacy and data security are extremely important to us. All personal information is encrypted and stored securely using trusted platforms. We only share the minimum necessary contact details (like a phone number or email) with a finder and only when a valid code is submitted.
While Wander Rescue is not a healthcare provider and does not store medical records, we do follow best practices for handling sensitive data. Because we are not transmitting Protected Health Information (PHI), HIPAA compliance is not required, but we still take every precaution to keep your information safe and private.
Do I need to download an app?
No app is required. Everything is accessible via a mobile-friendly website. However, a mobile app may be introduced in the future.
How do I update my contact information?
You can update your contact information at any time by logging into your account and visiting the Profile section in your Dashboard. It’s important to keep this information current to ensure the service works effectively.
Can I register more than one caregiver?
Yes! With our Premium Plan, you can invite multiple caregivers to be notified and access your dashboard.
How do I cancel or modify my subscription?
You can manage your subscription through your account Dashboard. Go to the Subscription section where you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan. If you need assistance, our support team is available to help.
